Import failure or missing information?

A file that does not load needs a different investigation from a visible bill with missing prices. Try the original in the GAEB editor, read the exact message and keep the reference number and action. If sections and items already appear, work through marked fields in that loaded state. An unfinished price or bidder response does not by itself mean the import failed.

1. Compare the extension and actual source

The standalone editor accepts X83 and D83. P83, X84, PDF and ZIP are not equivalent inputs. The official GAEB FAQ explains file families and exchange phases.

Received file Next step
X83 or D83 Select the original and review the import message
ZIP Extract it and locate the contained X83 or D83
PDF Request the structured tender source
P83 or another format Ask the sender for a compatible export
X84 or D84 Check whether this is already an offer return

Do not change an extension to bypass the file selector. A renamed PDF has neither the required structure nor valid bill-of-quantities relationships.

2. Use a complete download

Save the complete attachment from the email or procurement platform. Check for a plausible size and make sure the file is not a preview, login page or empty download. Compare with a new original from the sender if necessary.

Keep the first original unchanged. Copying visible lines into a new file can lose relationships between sections, items and additions.

3. Follow the upload instructions

Observe supported formats and size limits, select one source and wait. If sign-in is required, complete it and check which document opens afterwards. A temporary service message is not a reason to alter the source. Reopen and first check whether a saved working state exists.

4. Clarify structure and unsupported content

X83 belongs to XML; D83 has a different structure. A supported extension does not prove every element is valid or representable. Do not experiment by deleting unknown parts. Ask the creator for a regenerated export and specify the required format. Give support the filename, message, reference, step and a few expected item references, without credentials.

The file loads but output is unavailable

Read the output notices. A working PDF and a structured offer return have different requirements. Required bidder answers can block an offer return even when the content is readable. Complete the relevant red fields and check the saved state; an optional comment is not a substitute.

Read how to interpret the bill, follow the opening guide and reload the correct original.
