The client determines the required submission format.
Understand file extensions
X83, D83, X84 and D84: what is the difference?
The extension identifies both the format family and exchange phase. An invitation to tender and a priced offer are different files.
| File | Meaning | In Hassolux |
|---|---|---|
| .x83 | Invitation to tender in GAEB DA XML | Import, read items and enter offer prices |
| .d83 | Invitation to tender in GAEB 90 | Import and edit the bill of quantities |
| .x84 | Offer return in GAEB DA XML | Export after successful validation |
| .d84 | Offer return in GAEB 90 | Export after successful validation |
The exchange phases are explained by GAEB in its official questions and answers. Changing between format families can affect which content can be represented.
Complete a bill of quantities in four steps.
- Open Documents → GAEBChoose your .x83 or .d83 file and open the imported working state.
- Check scope and quantitiesRead the item reference, unit, quantity, long description and preliminary notes. The source remains the basis of the offer.
- Enter unit pricesAdd prices and required offer information. A blank price is not a zero price.
- Save and validate, then exportResolve errors and review notices. Then download the approved D84 or X84 offer return.
Material enquiries from GAEB items
Let suppliers enter material prices directly.
Select material items for an enquiry. Suppliers enter unit prices, lead times and extra charges in the portal. Company and contact details are recorded separately.
A supplier quotation supports material purchasing. The client's GAEB offer file is validated and produced in the GAEB workflow.

Before importing
Common questions about GAEB in Hassolux.
Can I open an X83 file in Hassolux?
Yes. Under Documents → GAEB, import X83, read the bill and enter the intended offer prices.
Does Hassolux also support D83 files?
Yes. Hassolux imports D83 files from the GAEB 90 family. Import validates the file; renaming alone does not make unsupported content compatible.
Will I get an X84 or D84 file?
Hassolux offers X84 and D84 for priced offer returns. A saved, successfully validated state and resolution of required notices are prerequisites. The client's requested format is decisive.
Can Hassolux convert PDF to GAEB?
GAEB import accepts .x83 and .d83. OCR or renaming does not convert a PDF into a GAEB bill of quantities. PDFs can be produced as companion documents.
Is my offer submitted automatically?
No. Downloading a GAEB offer file does not submit it to a procurement platform. Deliver the reviewed file through the client's required route afterwards.
Can I try a material enquiry first?
Yes. The supplier demo shows material-price entry and quotation details using example data. Test mode sends no real offer.
