What you need
Keep the client's original X83 or D83 ready. A PDF is not a substitute for structured data, and changing the extension is not conversion. The aim is to open the bill, add offer prices and download an appropriate checked return. Supported GAEB workflows.
1. Import the source
Open Dokumente, select GAEB or the toolbar GAEB icon, then D83 / X83 importieren. Choose the received file, wait and read any messages.
Success opens a working state with the source hierarchy and items. A source already imported may open its existing working state. For an error, inspect the actual original and reason; renaming does not repair damaged or unsupported content.
2. Read an item before pricing
Check OZ, the item reference; Menge, the quantity; Einheit, the unit; and Beschreibung, including long descriptions and preliminary notes.
For 20 m², a unit price of €30.00 refers to one square metre, not the entire item.
3. Enter offer prices and required details
Enter the net unit price at the correct item and check the calculated result. Open Angebotsangaben to review bidder and offer information, and complete required answers.
Blank is not zero. An empty price is missing; explicit 0.00 is a deliberate zero. A sum preview does not confirm that the offer is complete.
4. Save and validate
Choose Speichern & prüfen and wait. Resolve errors at the named item or field. Read warnings and acknowledge only after a substantive review. Validate the saved state again after changes. Acknowledging a warning cannot remove an error.
Success means the saved state is eligible for the chosen output, not that every other format is interchangeable.
5. Download the required offer return
Confirm the client's format, select X84 · GAEB XML or D84 · GAEB 90 under GAEB-Angebotsformat, and address new conversion notices. Download the file and submit it through the client's specified route.
X83 and D83 are tender invitations; a priced return uses phase 84. Downloading does not submit it to a procurement platform.
PDFs and material enquiries
Leeres PDF and Ausgefülltes PDF are companion outputs. They do not replace a required GAEB return, and filled PDFs and GAEB exports have separate validation rules.
For supplier prices, use material enquiries. The supplier instructions explain entry; the demo uses examples and submits no real offer.
The official GAEB FAQ explains exchange phases. Contact Hassolux for a question about processing a particular source.
