Make the right photo findable

Fifty similar images help little if nobody knows which shows the pipe connection. This guide covers the web upload workflow; site documentation explains the wider context.

Capture overview, area and detail: courtyard, route, then connection. Check lighting, perspective and sharpness. Distinguish capture from upload: an image uploaded on Friday may show Tuesday's work. Keep only necessary material and review visible people, number plates, private rooms and documents. Internal filing does not grant permission to publish.

Use a consistent name and description

A name such as 2026-10-06_Courtyard_Drainage_Connection-01.jpg carries date, place, content and sequence. Avoid “final_new”. Describe the north connection before backfilling, its actual date and the related overview or detail. Recording a condition does not technically approve it.

Upload within the project

Open and verify the site, then documentation and files where offered. Select a coherent group and fill in folder, category and description. Review customer visibility, then check each upload result. Shared descriptions apply to the group, so do not mix areas needing different explanations.

Authorised people can later edit details and the filename while the extension is preserved.

Prepare large images

The web upload accepts up to ten files and 50 MiB in total, with 2 MiB per uploaded image. The image-reduction action accepts JPEG or PNG originals up to 25 MiB and 32 megapixels. It makes a JPEG copy with a maximum dimension of 1600 pixels; transparency becomes white and the local original stays unchanged.

Check small lettering and details. Keep the original because the reduced copy cannot restore its full quality.

Confirm the result

Selecting is not uploading. Wait for confirmation, then open the file from the project. A security check may delay availability. After a connection interruption, use the check-and-continue action; confirmed uploads remain. After a full reload, reselect local files, first checking what was already saved.

Ask an authorised colleague to find and explain a photo using search, folder and date. If they can do this without calling you, the filing works. Continue with project completion and projects.
